Mrs. Schicitano’s Math Class Procedures and Expectations
Welcome to math class! I am excited to have you as a student this year and want to help make this year a success. Middle school can be overwhelming to students so I have written down my expectations for you to keep in your notebook all year. The key to being a successful middle school student is organization. Through my policies and expectations, I hope that you will find a method to keep yourself on track from day one all the way through 8th grade.
Class Expectations
At the beginning of class, students should find their seats and begin work on the bell work. Students remain in their seats quietly until I announce moving to a different activity. Students raise their hands to ask questions, request to use restroom, or move about the room. I expect all students to come prepared for class with all supplies needed.
Classroom Policies
Restroom – As per Mr. Petrilla no one will be allowed to use the restroom the first 10 min or last 10 min of class. Additionally students have 2 EMERGENCY bathroom passes in my class per quarter and will be marked in the agenda. Please plan accordingly. Only one person will be allowed out of the room at a time.
Hall Passes –You must have a hall pass to leave my room.
Agendas – You must bring your agenda to class every day. It will help you organize your assignments and it is a SCHOOL POLICY!!
Phones: All phones are off and in backpacks at the start of class.
Absences – When you return to school please check the homework board. Look to see what your class did and check with me for any paperwork you missed. You have the same number of days you were gone to complete this work, speak with me personally if you are worried about this timeline. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO COMPLETE AND TURN IN YOUR MISSING WORK!
Be Responsible – Be on time, prepared, listening without interrupting, following directions, participating, doing your own work- Cheating results in a zero, a referral and a 4 in citizenship for the quarter..
Respect Yourself and Others – Take turns talking, no “put downs”, ask before using materials, use good manners. Bullying or being disrespectful will not be tolerated in our class.
Be Safe – Keep hands/feet to yourself, use materials appropriately, keep your space neat, stay seated.
Have a Good Attitude! – Come to class ready to learn, and participate.
Consequences for not meeting classroom expectations will follow the school discipline code found in the agenda.
Supplies: You will need these EVERY day!
